Stein am Rhein becomes a space of resonance where history, everyday life, and social relationships are translated into sound. During their residencies, Thierry Tidrow (February–July 2026) and Nélida Béjar (April and August–September 2026) will each develop a site-specific musical project based on the multi-layered cityscapes of the town and the region.\u003C/p>",{"type":112,"title":164,"name":165},"Statements","statements",{"type":161,"text":167,"depth":138},"\u003Ch4>STATEMENTS\u003C/h4>\n\u003Cp>Thierry Tidrow is interested in the poetic wall inscriptions in the old town of Stein am Rhein. He considers them to be condensed testimonies of earlier forms of coexistence and a source of musical reflection.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp class=\"small\">«What fascinates me about Stein am Rhein are the little sentences or ‘wall inscriptions’ that can be read everywhere. The various sayings on the old facades combine wisdom, knowledge, and poetry and reveal a lot about how people used to think, interact with each other, and shape their lives in community. They are impressive traces of past human existence and invite reflection and speculation, which I find very appealing as a musician.» (Thierry Tidrow)\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp>Nélida Béjar focuses on encounters with local people. In dialogue with the local population, she is developing a vocal project that aims to open up new perspectives on the local context in a sensual, participatory, and open way.\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp class=\"small\">«Encounters with different people often reveal completely unexpected artistic potential. Discovering this potential and working with it is one of the most interesting tasks for me as a composer. What resonances do the people of Stein am Rhein—a town where history, landscape, and community intertwine in a special way—bring forth?
