Mirna Bamieh, Sour Things: The Workshop, Chretzeturm, 2023

The event will begin with a screening of Mirna Bamieh's 20-minute film To Jar, which, with its introspective approach, will provide inspiration for the workshop that follows. Here, the group will work together to prepare a lemon and spice-based ferment, culminating in an interactive dinner and dessert in which fermentation plays an important role.
Sour Things: The Workshop explores the process of active listening in the context of fermentation processes. How can we attune ourselves to these practices of self-care? The artist invites us to reflect on specific questions of listening through the metaphor of the preserving jar as a body, thereby developing an awareness of our own bodies and ourselves.
The event will be held in English (with the possibility of whispered translation).
